George Ofulue: Respect The Culture and Tradition of Ubulu-Uku

By Ahabamnews

The Lead Activists for Young Nigeria Rights Organization (YNRO) Comrade Victor Ojei popularly known as Wong Box Nigeria, raised alarm over the abuse of power, violation of due process, and manipulation of Ubulu-Uku tradition by certain individuals bent on destabilizing the Kingdom.

Comrade Victor Ojei strongly condemn the purported suspension of Chief James Asika Onwordi, the Onishe (Ezemu) of Ubulu-Uku, by His Royal Majesty Obi Chukwuka Noah Akaeze 1, Obi of Ubulu-Uku, acting through his Uncle, Mr. George Ofulue, who dubiously, signed a suspension letter as “Palace Secretary” Activists Ojei stressed that the so called suspension was based on flimsy excuses of the Onishe’s absence from a WhatsApp call, is not only laughable but also an afront to custom, an abuse of authority, and clear conspiracy by the Obi’s Uncles to hijack the throne of Ubulu-Uku.

The Lead Activists explained that, the role of Onishe, traditionally is the Prime Minister of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom and oversees the Ubulu-Uku Traditional Council, Ubulu-Uku Development Council (UDC), and Ubulu-Uku Youth Development Committee (UYDC).

He said by custom, in the absence of the Obi, it is the Onishe, not the Oni’s uncle, who is empowered to oversees Community affairs. Attempting to sideline him is a direct attack on the peace and governance structure of the Kingdom.

YNRO Boss, called on His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir. Monday Onyeme, Department of State Services (DSS), the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, the Chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, the Chairman Traditional Rulers Council and others, to immediately declare this purported suspension illegal, protect the dignity of Chief James Asika Onwordi, and caution those abusing the throne of Ubulu-Uku for selfish family interest.

According to YNRO Chief, the Obi of Ubulu-Uku himself is a beneficiary of State protection and legitimacy after the tragic death of his father. It is therefore disgraceful that he and his family now seek to abuse that same priviledge to destabilize the Kingdom that nurtured him.

He added, lead activists “The Young Nigerian Rights Organization (YNRO) called for peace, Justice, and respect for constitted authorities in Delta State. We remind the public that only due process, not family conspiracies can sustain tradition, law and Governance.
