TINUBU GRACES OLUBADAN’S STAFF OF OFFICE PRESENTATION IN Grand STYLE

In a spectacular display of pomp and pageantry, the Who is Who in Nigeria converged on Ibadan, Oyo State, for the presentation of the staff of office and insignia to the Olubadan, Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja. The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Sultan of Sokoto, governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, captains of industry, top military brass and journalists.
The highlight of the event was the arrival of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who landed in a majestic white aircraft, aptly described as the “White Bird”. The symbolism of the aircraft was not lost on the Olubadan, who noted that it marked a new era of growth and prosperity for the traditional institution.
In his speech, Governor Ladoja of Oyo State declared that all challenges surrounding the coronation of the Olubadan had finally come to an end. The Olubadan, in his response, thanked Tinubu for honouring the occasion and asserted the gathering of the importance of Ibadan to the Yoruba Nation.
Tinubu in his address likened the current state of Nigeria to a painful surgery, but assured the audience that the end result would be a brighter future for the country. He wished the Olubadan a seamless reign and prayed for long life for the king, joy, prosperity and relevance in democratic dispensation in Nigeria.
The event was a testament to the enduring significance of traditional institutions in Nigeria’s democratic dispensation. As the Olubadan embarks on his reign, Nigerians pray for his long life, peace, and prosperity.
