Activist Call’s Attention of The IG of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun

By Ahabamnews

A human rights activist Comrade Victor Ojei, popularly called Wong Box Nigeria, has called the attention of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun that officers from the IGP’s Office in Abuja allegedly abducted Hon. Prince Ogbonna from his home in the early hours of 20th September, 2025 and whisked him away to Abuja.

Let it be clear that this is not policing, it is lawlessness.

This is not service, it is an abuse and infringement of fundamental rights of Comrade Ogbonna.

According to him the worst of all, it is in direct violation of the Inspector General of Police’s own public warning issued on 4th February 2025, where he categorically condemned the indiscriminate transfer of cases to Abuja.

The misuse of office to intimidate and harass the public, the abuse of police authorities in civil dispute and the failure to respect due process.

He Stated that, in the IGP’s very own words and he quote: ” Any officer found engaged in indiscriminate transfer of case files or misused their office will face strictly disciplinary actions.”

He said, why is Hon. Prince Ogbonna’s case different?

1) Why was he abducted instead of invited, when the police Act prescribed a simple letter of invitation?
2) Why was Abuja-based officers taking laws into their hands? While Nigerians are told to “trust the police to deliver justice”

1)This is not transparency

2)This is not accountability

3) This is impunity weaponized with a badge.

He lamented that it is a dangerous precedence, if police officers can storm into your home at midnight, by pass your state command and drag you to Abuja without lawful procedure, then no Nigeria is safe. Today it is Comrade Ogbonna, tomorrow it could be you.

The activist called on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to uphold his own words and take decisive action against the officers who said they are from IRT/IGP Abuja office, that they responsible for this act. Anything less is hypocrisy and complicity.

Nigerians deserve better, Nigeria Police cannot preach transparency while practicing tyranny, activists stated.
