Asagba Petitioned Over Denial of English Books Meant For Ahabam Primary School Pupils

The Asagba of Asaba HRM Obi Prof. Epiphany Chigbuogu Azinge, SAN, OON, has been Petitioned to investigate the circumstances behind the retrieval of Modular English Books the Monarch donated to Ahabam Primary School Asaba.
A source who spoke on condition of annonimity for security reasons, alleged that the Royal Father came at the third term of last session at Ahabam Primary School and met with the School’s authorities and Pupils of the School that are moving to Primary 5 from primary 4.
The Asagba was said to have handed over those books to the School’s authorities and the books in question are Modular English Course for primary schools workbook 5 and other English textbooks.
The source alleged that, the Royal Father came third term and handed over the books to the School authorities. When those pupils were in primary 4, and that the books have to be used when the pupils gain promotion to Primary 5.
On first term, when they entered primary 5, the school authorities shared the books to the pupils, snapped and videod them to create impression they have given them the books, thereafter they retrieved the books from the pupils and started selling their own books to the pupils.
Further inquiries revealed that the School authorities, refused to distribute the books, to the pupils claiming that the books which Asagba brought were fake and not in the school curriculum and that if the pupils read it they will fail.
Further investigation revealed that the School authorities bought their own books and extorted #7,500 from pupils as against those books that they were supposed to distribute free of charge to the pupils.
The source claimed that the Asagba’s books were kept and that he the investigator , went to Ahabam Primary School on 6th October for inquiries and the school authorities claimed they were not selling book.
A senior official told him that the Asagba own’s were not in the curriculum and that was why they were not distributed to the pupils, and that out of fear, on the 7th October 2025, the school authorities started sharing the books to the primary 5 pupils.
The source appealed to the Monarch to launch an Independent investigation into this petition to unravel the facts in this petition for the good of all.
