By Ahabamnews

The Lead Activists for the Young Nigeria Rights Organization, Comrade Victor Ojei, has petitioned the Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice T. O. Diai, in the petition dated 13th of August 2025, and made available to our correspondence.

Comrade Victor Ojei stated that, he was present at Magistrate Court 1, Koka, Asaba, Delta State, in a Pro Bono case where they stood for borrower being exploited under the Delta State Money Lenders Law which has been adjourned to 3rd of September 2025.

The Lead Activists call on all Magistrate Court Judges in Delta State, to uphold the provisions of the Money Lenders Law and refuse to enforce claims brought by Lenders who failed to meet statutory compliance requirements.

He urged members of the public to contact them whenever they encounter cases where money lenders operate outside the law or where there is apparently Judicial bias aiding unlicensed lenders operate against borrowers

According to Comrade Ojei, any case based on unlicensed money lenders excesses interest, compound interest, or non compliance with statutory documents requirements should be dismissed outrightly, and any Judicial enforcement of such claims constitute a miscarriage of justice.

“The Young Nigeria Rights Organization, will continue to advocate for the protection of borrowers, petition oversight bodies where judicial conduct undermines the law, and challenge all forms of illegal and exploitative lenders in Delta State “, He added.
